Nashik, July 2026: Ashadhi Ekadashi was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm at Horizon International Academy under the guidance of Principal Mrs. Poonam Singh. The programme was organized to help students understand the religious, cultural, and moral significance of Ashadhi Ekadashi while fostering respect for India’s rich traditions and heritage.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mrs. Sonali Raje Pawar, President of the Local Management Committee (LMC). Also present were Mrs. Vaishali Hembade, Mrs. Surekha Patil, Mrs. Sarika Datir (PTA), Mrs. Sonal Deshmukh, Mrs. Ranjana Patil, Mrs. Sonali Hire, Mrs. Swati Shinde (MTA), along with Mr. Gorakshanath Bhor and Mrs. Ashwini Borade, members of the School Management Committee (SMC).
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. On this occasion, they explained the significance of Ashadhi Ekadashi and highlighted the teachings of Sant Dnyaneshwar and Sant Tukaram, emphasizing the values of devotion, humility, discipline, and selfless service. They also encouraged students to preserve and uphold India’s rich cultural traditions.
The celebration began with the worship of Lord Vitthal and Goddess Rukmini. Students captivated the audience by presenting devotional abhangas, bhajans, and cultural performances based on the Warkari tradition. Dressed in traditional Warkari attire, they beautifully depicted the spiritual journey of the Pandharpur Wari, showcasing the devotion and rich heritage of the Warkari sect.
Principal Mrs. Poonam Singh felicitated the Chief Guest, Mrs. Sonali Raje Pawar, and extended a warm welcome and heartfelt gratitude to all the distinguished guests. She appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers, stating that such cultural programmes instill moral values, unity, discipline, and pride in India’s cultural heritage among students.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks. The entire school campus resonated with the sacred chants of Lord Vitthal’s name, creating a truly devotional and spiritually uplifting atmosphere.
