Horizon International Academy celebrated Janmashtami and the traditional Dahi Handi festival with enthusiasm and festive spirit. The programme was organised to familiarise young students with the significance of Lord Krishna’s birth and the traditions associated with the festival.
The celebration was marked by the participation of the school’s little ones dressed as Radha and Krishna. Adorned in colourful traditional costumes and accessories, the children looked charming and added a special touch to the occasion. Their participation provided an enjoyable opportunity for them to experience and learn about Indian traditions.
A special Dahi Handi activity was organised as part of the celebration, depicting the playful childhood of Lord Krishna. The activity introduced students to the traditional practice while emphasising the importance of teamwork, cooperation, coordination, and perseverance.
Teachers also spoke to the students about the significance of Janmashtami and shared simple lessons from the life and teachings of Lord Krishna. The students were encouraged to understand values such as kindness, courage, devotion, truthfulness, and respect for others.
The programme served as a combination of cultural learning and enjoyable participation, allowing the children to connect with an important Indian festival in an age-appropriate and engaging manner.
Principal Mrs. Poonam Singh appreciated the efforts of the teachers and the participation of the students. She encouraged the children to learn from the positive teachings of Lord Krishna and to respect India’s diverse cultural traditions.
The celebration concluded with cheerful participation from the students, creating memorable moments and strengthening their connection with Indian culture and traditions.
